Hi, I'm Lorne Wedhorn, the owner and inspector behind Local Insight Inspections.

With over 20 years of hands-on residential and commercial construction experience, I bring practical, real-world building knowledge to every inspection. A significant part of my background has been working with log and timber-frame construction, where I developed a genuine passion for and respect for the craftsmanship behind these unique homes. That experience has given me a strong understanding of how buildings are put together, how their systems work, and where potential problems can develop. Log and timber-frame homes are an area I specialize in and particularly enjoy inspecting.

I’m also a graduate of the Carson Dunlop Home Inspection Training Program — one of North America’s most recognized home inspection training programs. Local Insight Inspections is licensed and insured, combining professional home inspection training with more than two decades of hands-on construction experience.

Living and working in the Cariboo also means understanding that properties here can be very different. From homes in town to rural properties, acreages, log and timber-frame homes, our climate, geography, and building styles come with their own considerations.

For me, a home inspection is about more than checking boxes. I take the time to look carefully, explain what I find in plain language, answer your questions, and help you better understand the property.
